Visit of Saint Nicholas in the Bay Area

We are happy to announce that the visit of Saint Nicholas is organized this year thanks to the collaboration with the Dutch School of Silicon Valley at their locations in Palo Alto and Berkeley. 

RSVP by November 25th. Please note that Saint Nicholas can only meet a maximum number of children at each location. Our organizer suggests that you register soon as it might be possible that we cannot accept your child/ren at your preferred location in case of full registration. 

- In Palo Alto: from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Cubberley Community Center, 4000 Middlefield Rd, Palo Alto, CA 94303...Click HERE for the registration form.

- In Berkeley: from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St John's, 2727 College Ave, Berkeley, CA 94705...Click HERE for the registration form.

Sign-up online and payment are to be made directly to the Dutch School. The cost per child for the event is $20. BCNC Membership is separate...make sure your 2024 or 2025 membership is active...for questions, please contact Philippe@bcnc.com.

  1. Complete the registration form linked above (in Dutch) before November 25th. Use Google Translate if needed. In the brief text for the Big Red Book (Grote Rode Boek), please mention that you are a BCNC member...this can be in Dutch or English (unfortunately, French is not an option this year.) 
  2. By November 25th, send a separate email to philippe@bcnc.com with your name and the number of children that you signed up. 
  3. Please volunteer for at least one of the functions during Saint Nicholas event to lighten the effort for everyone.
  4.  It would be great if you can practice some songs at home and/or in the car. Click HERE for song 1, and HERE for song 2. There is also a special daily Sinterklaas News on Dutch television...click HERE.

    This is a members-only event. If you are not a 2024 member, you can handle your Family Membership at the same time. Your membership will be active for the entire year 2025. For more information on how to become a member, please visit www.bcnc.com/about.

    Notes:
    - Parents are responsible for their child(ren) at all times during this event.
    - BCNC does adhere to the "Pieten Pact", agreed to by a number of Flemish organizations and toy/food companies with respect for the diversity in our society so everyone can enjoy a nice event.

    Saint Nicholas will be:

    - In Palo Alto from 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

    - In Berkeley from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
